Pressure washing season is upon us and we all are ready for the spring season in the Hudson Valley, NY. Many people like to take up pressure washing as a project on the side to do on the weekend. We have a few do’s and don’t for you. Whether you live in Carmel, or Newburgh, Bedford, or Ridgfield these tips should help you on your way. Lets start with the Do’s then go to the Don’t

Do’s

use detergents to help clean dirt and mold. If you have mold use bleach when pressure washing to kill the mold
rely on water flow to clean, psi is not the main goal here, a machine with a heavier gpm is better for you
wear PPE (personal protection equipment) you get one body so protect it with gloves, goggles, and assistance from others f needed

Don’t

use only water to remove mold. using water only will ensure that whatever mold will come back quick, mold needs to be killed. An invisible layer of mold will remain even if you think you cleaned it
use that red tip! throw it in the garbage before you draw on your house like zorro!
Be a hero! If the job is too much for you a few hundred dollars can save you a hospital stay by hiring a company who powerwashes.
